We are pleased to announce that Salmons Leap has retained it’s 4 star Visit England rating. We have also retained our Gold Award again for this year.
Due to a last minute cancellation there is a vacancy at Salmon’s Leap for the week beginning 26th May. The rate is £485.00 for the 7 nights. We could, alternatively offer a 3 day break, Saturday 26th, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday for a rare if £300.00
Filming starts this week on Weymouth beach. A new film about Dunkirk. The film stars Tom Hardy and Harry Styles. I suspect it will create a lot of interest! Hope the weather holds out for filming.
It’s been a great week for sun shine. Beach has been crowded. Let’s hope the weather holds now that schools out.
Salmons Leap is offering a special rate for this August Bank Holiday. £595.00 for the period 27th August for 7 nights.
So here we are with a new summer season starting, and it’s a real shame that we have lost the beautiful Californian Lilac from the garden, and which suffered at the hands of gale Katie, which blew it over. The birds are very upset and have taken the dawn chorus else where so we need to rectify the situation by replanting an alternative. There is much discussion on whether it will be a magnolia tree or a hardy palm tree. We will need to plan for a new awning over the decking to add to the privacy now that the tree has gone, and to give some shade from the hot summer sun we are hoping is going to appear!?!?
Fortunately Salmons Leap is fully booked until mid October apart from August Bank Holiday week. Let’s hope for some really good weather for all our guests.
We are pleased to report that we have retained our Gold Award from Visit England again this year.
Weymouth celebrated it’s annual Watefest this weekend, and thankfully the weather was superb. Plenty of activity in the harbour including a jet board – not something I would like to try myself!!!. Great to see the tall ships in the harbour again. Plenty of tasty food stalls around the town, including Pink House regulars, the “Curry Man” – tasty Indian food on the harbour side.
Crowds of locals and holiday makers saw the event which was a great success again this year.
Keith and Sue are very pleased to have achieved a Four Star rating again following this years visit from Quality in Tourism.
In addition we are delighted to have retained the Gold Award for another year.
Well Christmas is upon us, and guests are due to arrive at Salmons Leap.
We have the decorations up, and some goodies left for our guests to enjoy.
Dont think we will get a white Christmas, but at least it will feel seasonal.
Happy Christmas to all our guests and friends, and looking forward to seeing you all again in the New Year.
Autumn has arrived, and whilst the sun is not with us every day, the beautiful autumnial colours are stunning. The nearby Lodmor Country Park has many migrating birds and the sights of the geese in their typical V shared formation are great to watch.
This is also the time of the ever popular beach motocross, when the town beach, pictured above, resounds to the noise of the motor bikes taking part in the races, like busy bees. This is a charity event organised by the local Lions Club and is very well supported.
Salmons Leap is fully booked until the end of October, and some winter maintenace will then need to be undertaken. Some weeks remain available however, and can be booked by contacting us.
This weekend Weymouth hosts an Iron Man Triathlon – The Weymouth Challenge. The full course is 2.7 mile swim, 114 mile cycle and 26 mile run. Feel tired thinking about it. Think I could manage the 26 miles but the rest……….!!!
At the same time the Wessex Food Festival ( more my style) is taking place offering a fascinating and diverse range of food. The Inferno Cheddar with chilli sticks in my mind!! Excellent (calorie free -don’t think so) cup cakes.
